Buddy Time- Newspaper Fashion Show

We have buddy time with Room 21 every Tuesday afternoon. Today we had a newspaper fashion show. We got into groups and had to design an outfit using only newspaper and tape.  Here are our creations!

Kapa Haka

Every Tuesday morning we go to Kapa Haka with Matua Whaitiri. We are learning lots of songs and actions. Here are some pictures of us at this weeks Kapa Haka session.

Netball

Today we did netball. We threw the ball to a partner. We did warm ups first. One of our warm ups was learning how to jump and how to pivot. We learned passing and throwing too. We have three more sessions of netball coming up soon. Netball was fun!

By Room 1

Sculptures

Today we started making our 3d sculptures. We used balloons and cardboard to make the shape. Then we used newspaper and glue to start covering the shapes we made. It was very tricky and very messy! They will take a long time to complete but we are working hard and being patient. Come in and see them in Room 1!

Science Week

Today Rachel came to show us some experiments for Science Week.

We looked at the weights of different liquids to see if they would mix, float or sink. We found out if hot or cold water is heavier.

Then we made a cloud in a jar!

We liked learning about why these things happened. Ask us about some of the things we saw!

Room 1's Trophy

Room 1 got the Mr Saltmarsh trophy in Ako Iti assembly today.

We got it because we have kept the area outside our classroom very tidy.

Great job Room 1! Miss Smith is very proud of you.

Structures and Skeletons

This term our topic is Structures and Skeletons. We will be looking at how things are built and how things stand up. We will be looking at the different materials used to make a good structure.
